 Newsletter, Receptions and More... As barbeques fire up, swimming pools fill, and flowers bloom with radiant vigor, it's official that Spring/Summer 2008 is here at last. The startling colors of this lush spring are providing a decided inspiration for Ford as he plays with new compositions and palettes. The new original paintings of late have been larger than most (48"x72"), and resplendent with his remarkable gift for re-inventing the modern landscape. We're seeing more seascapes, too, along with the release of the new collection of sea-inspired limited edition giclees, "The Waves". People just love them! Further evidence that his talent is boundless, and there is so much more from nature that he will be creating over time. As he says, "My subject matter is endless." Whether the painting is land, sky or sea, you know a Ford Smith painting when you see it. Check under "Giclees" and "New Releases for Spring 2008" to view them in detail. We recently returned to Atlanta from our Ford Smith Gallery in Santa Fe to launch the season this year, and celebrated with a "May Soiree" reception. The gallery was just stunning, and provided the perfect atmosphere for artistic revelry and appreciation. We had a huge turn-out, and we thank our Santa Fe guests for their overwhelming support and enthusiasm. What a fabulous night! Our gallery partners across the country are thrilled with the new release of limited edition giclees, and they are finding that their clients agree! There are only a few Artist Proofs left (which Ford embellishes), and the regular editions are moving quickly. Each edition is just 100. The hand embellishments are far and away the choice for most collectors. They are astonishing and elaborate - the finest in the industry. We have a very exciting program that we are launching for our gallery partners who have been impacted by the straining economy. In addition to our innovative program, you'd be surprised at how the very act of exhibiting his art can impact your bottom line so positively. Put simply, there are not many painters of his caliber and creativity living today, and savvy collectors know it. Give us a call and we'll help you make it happen. I'm going to have to pull Ford off the easel soon, as we have a lot of travel ahead this year. A trip to New York City next month kicks it off, followed by a reception in the beautiful Cashiers, North Carolina, Costa Rica (okay, that's a vacation), Santa Fe (three times), Florida, Las Vegas (twice), and a huge show tour in Canada at the beginning of November. And then you never know what might appear. Soon you'll be viewing this information on our new website which is in production right now. Naturally, we're thrilled, as you know the new site will be spectacular, easier to navigate, view, provide relevant information and much more. Plus, we'll have a special portal for our gallery partners, and separate areas for each of the Ford Smith Galleries in Atlanta and Santa Fe. Ford's new original paintings are in very high demand, and I apologize that sometimes they are sold before they are posted on the website under "New Paintings". We have many collectors or watchful patrons who request previews of new work.
